About Me
Hi, I’m Vincent Ho. A UI/UX designer driven by curiosity, empathy, and a passion for solving problems through thoughtful design. I see myself as a lifelong learner, always seeking feedback, exploring new tools and techniques, and growing both as a designer and as a person. I stay open to new ideas, perspectives, and opportunities, believing that every experience is a chance to improve.
My Journey
I was born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Growing up, I never really knew what I wanted to do. At the beginning of high school, I became interested in many forms of design such as architectural, interior, fashion, 3D, and industrial. But over time, that interest shifted, and I still felt unsure about my path.
That’s when I entered the manufacturing and welding industry. I did a co-op at a local fabrication shop, which led to a job as a production welder. While it was hands-on and valuable experience, the work quickly became repetitive and lacked the creative freedom I needed. That made me reflect on what truly drives me and I realized I wanted to pursue something where I could fully express my creativity and grow through new challenges.
After a long conversation with my cousin, who works in tech, I was introduced to the world of UI/UX. I started doing my own research and from there, everything clicked. That’s how my journey into design really began.
Why I Design
I love how design lets you turn something that once existed only as an idea into something real, something you can see, use, and interact with. I think that’s incredibly cool. What excites me even more is the opportunity to create something that can have a positive impact on someone’s life.
Logo Meaning
You're probably wondering about the meaning behind the flower logo. To me, design is like flowers, each one beautiful and unique, with its own imperfections. In the same way, every design has its own character and value, shaped by how well it fits the needs and emotions of its users.
Outside of Design
I’m a big car enthusiast and love going cafe hopping with friends and family. My dream car is the Audi RS3. When I’m at a cafe, you’ll usually find me with a refreshing iced matcha latte in hand. Some of my favourite spots so far are One For All Coffee in Hamilton and Icha Tea in Toronto.
